MASK A CHILD CAMPAIGN

WHAT IS 'MASK A CHILD CAMPAIGN'?

It is an initiative by ESCHOOLFINDER LLC that
focuses on providing hand sewn face masks, other PPEs, and possibly food
supplies to vulnerable children, families and schools, mostly in the
unprivileged parts of the country.

Immunity:

Even though our country has received the AstraZeneca Vaccine through the Covax facility, there is presently no guarantee or evidence that vaccination can completely stop people from being infected with the virus, according to the BBC (https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20210203-why-vaccinated-people-may-still-be-able-to-spread-covid-19).

In fact, there are two (2) main types of immunity a person can achieve with vaccines. One is “effective” immunity, which can prevent a pathogen from causing serious disease, but can’t stop it from entering the body or making more copies of itself. The other is “sterilising immunity” which can thwart infections entirely, and even prevent asymptomatic cases. The latter is the aspiration of all vaccine research, but surprisingly rarely achieved.

Statistics and sources:

Report released by World Health Organization on June 11th 2020 shows that the pandemic was accelerating in Africa – it took 98 days to reach 100,000 cases and within 18 days, it moved to 200,000. The report further indicated that ten (10) out of the 54 countries were currently driving the rise in numbers accounting for nearly 80% of all the cases.

There is therefore the need to observe all safety protocols prescribed by experts. Wearing a nose mask is a major safety measure in the fight against the spread of the virus. Hence, our efforts and decision to focus on making it available to the vulnerable in unprivileged places.

As school has resumed, many children are exposed to the risk of contracting the disease. Evidence of kids getting the disease is becoming a possibility if not they become potential carriers of the disease.

Threats (children without masks)

As school has resumed, many children are exposed to the risk of contracting the disease, although we hope the unfortunate does not happen. That is the reason you and I must utilize this opportunity to protect children and ourselves altogether.  Vulnerable children can potentially contract and spread the disease. Without masks and other protective equipment, we are likely to be facing a serious threat.

According to a recent report, there are 2 new variants of covid19 in the country(https://www.myjoyonline.com/ghana-records-2-new-covid-19-variants-experts-call-for-immediate-action/), and that is even more dangerous. Based on scientific reports, we can say that covid is no respecter of persons.

As a country, we have lost some lives to this pandemic already (both young and old). We do not want to lose a lot more, especially when we can contribute meaningfully to this effort of helping curb the spread of the virus. There is therefore the need to observe all safety protocols prescribed by experts. Wearing a nose mask is a major safety measure in the fight against the spread of the virus. Hence, our efforts and decision to focus on making it available to the vulnerable in unprivileged places.

What we have done

As a budding business, we have already donated 100 masks. We have also managed to gather donations worth of 500 masks from our families and friends.

Inspiration for this cause

My inspiration is simple: I was sitting at the hospital for my normal routine checkups when I bumped into news at the waiting area. I was moved to the point that I knew I had to do something. What makes it even more compelling is that as an education business, I will not be able to do anything about it. When I spoke to the team, they also confirmed to hear about it. We have to do something about this and it has to be soon

What next?

Going forward, we need you to join the group of compassionate individuals to help take this campaign to the doorstep of the vulnerable persons who need this assistance the most. With a concerted effort, we can visit and/or send these masks, PPEs and food supplies, possibly to schools.

Kindly;

1, Donate A Mask: Send us mask (s) that you have made or bought to us. This will be a great starting point. All you have to do is to get it transported to the stated address and we will send them on your behalf

2, Donate Money: if you are not able to send us masks, you can replace it with money, we will go ahead and purchase or sew the masks for the children.

3, Suggest a School: Do you know a school that we do not know of, that will desperately need masks, food or PPE supplies? Let us know so we can send the supplies there.

4, Become a regular donor: we have plans to keep this as long as exist as a business. Today it will not be COVID-19 but helping children stay in school is a global problem and we intend to move into that space. Send us an email info@eschoolfinder.com.

Our Philosophy

All donations go into the course that has been specified. This means, we will not use this to pay any worker, data or even food when we have to travel to the place. Everything goes into the course, that is our policy.

All regular donors are given access to how all our charity funds are being used for accountability.
